TOFIFEST - GOLDEN ANGELS ARE WAITING International Film Festival TOFIFEST opens the recruitment of films for competitions of the Festival's sixth edition. TOFIFEST's Grand Prix is Golden Angel and a dozen or so thousand EURo’s to share. In 2008 the Festival, for the first time, will be held in Summer and will give awards in several competitions. It will be accompanied by many film sections, workshops, concerts, theatrical spectacles, dancing party, and meetings with the stars of European cinema.

TOFIFEST is one of the fastest developing film festivals in Poland. The event focuses on the presentation of feature films, with the emphasis on the young cinema, made outside the commercial system, and on artists' debutes and their second films. Our catchwords are "independent films - independent thinking" and "you won't get these films grom the web". We present the cinema, which is called by media "an immodest cinema". We are anxious about the films that we screen at TOFIFEST, and we want them to take part in the discussion on the present world, we want them to tell about the contemporary men and their problems. Since the previous edition films awarded at TOFIFEST are distributed across cinemas on a regular basis due to the Vivarto Film company’s partaking in the organization of the Festival. Winners of TOFIFEST in 2006 and 2007 have already been screened in Polish cinemas [www.vivarto.pl].

During Festival, there are four Competitions: INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION for The Best Full-length Feature Film [Golden Angel + money award. For the feature films longer than 60 mins., produced after 1st January 2007, can take part] and INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION for The Best Short Feature Film [Grand Prix: Golden Angel + money award. For the feature films longer than 60 mins., produced after 1st January 2007 Third and fourth competition will be: FORWARD! - International Competition for the Best Feature Film [especially Debut or Second/Third Film] for the filmmakers who break the schemes and will to shape the future of cinema and POLISH COMPETITION [both for film produced after 1st January 2007].

TOFIFEST is a film festival which is every year held in the pearl of Gothic (enlisted on UNESCO’S World Relics List) – the town of Torun in the Northern Poland [esk2016.eu]. In the year 2008, between 7 and 13 July the sixth edition of the Festival will take place.
